- 21 ottobre 2008: nuova cupola all’Osservatorio Astronomico di Campo Catino. Vengono mostrate le foto con le fasi della sostituzione della cupola
- Pubblicata sul BURL del 14/8/08 la delibera 447 del 21/6/08 con la quale viene aggiornato l’elenco degli osservatori della regione Lazio e vengono individuate zone particolari da proteggere dall’inquinamento luminoso.
- 10 anni fa, nel 1998, L’Osservatorio di Campo Catino scoprì l’asteroide 1998FJ12, che recentemente è stato classificato: "NEAR EARTH ASTEROID" di tipo AMOR. Il secondo scoperto in Italia fino ad oggi.
